Who We Are

Our Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Essentials of Faith

Our Mission Statement:

"We exist to make Christlike disciples in the nations."

Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

                                                                                           Matthew 28:19-20

Our Vision:

We exist to help people take their next steps in becoming a follower and growing deeper as a follower of Christ.

Our Core Values:

We are Loving – We are an inter-generational church seeking to minister to individuals at every stage of life.  We value building deep, meaningful relationships with one another.  We are a “come as you are” church that loves people because God loves people.

By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.

                                                                                                               John 13:35

We are Growing – We are a church that is not content with the status quo.  We strive to be on a journey of learning, applying, and equipping ourselves to become better followers of Christ.  While we want you to come as you are, we don’t want you to stay where you are.

We will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Ephesians 4:15

We are Missional – We believe in the mission of the church, to make Christlike disciples in the nations.  As a church, we strive to be singularly focused on communicating the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world through our words and through our actions.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        John 3:16

Our Essentials of Faith:

 1. About God
We believe in one God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Gen. 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Ps. 90:2; Matt. 28:19; 1 Pet. 1:2; 2 Cor. 12:14

2. About Jesus Christ
We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race and that anyone who receives Christ is forgiven, adopted into God’s family, and has eternal life.
Matt. 1:22-23; Isa. 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Heb. 4:14-15; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Rom. 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11

3. About the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son.  We believe he is active in the world, convicting people of sin, bringing life to those who repent and believe, sanctifying and empowering believers, and guiding into all truth.
2 Cor. 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acs 1:8; 1 Cor. 2:12, 3:16; Eph. 1:13, 5:18; Gal. 5:25

4. About the Bible
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word to us.  We believe it provides all we need to know about how to be saved and how to live a life pleasing to God.
2 Tim. 3:16, 1:13; 2 Pet. 1:20-21; Ps. 119:105, 106, 12:6; Pro. 30:5

5. About Humanity and Sin
We believe people are the supreme object of God’s creation, made in the image of God, to be like him in character.  Every person has tremendous potential for good, but all are marred by sin, which separates us from God.  This is reflected in our inclination to sin, the desire to please self.
Gen. 1:27; Ps. 8:3-6; Isa. 53:6a, 59:1-2; Rom. 3:23

6. About Atonement
We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sin of humanity and the atonement makes possible our salvation through grace by faith.  When we place our trust in him, we are restored to right relationship with God.
Rom. 6:23, 5:1; Eph. 2:8-9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus. 3:5; Gal. 3:26

7. About Free Will and Grace
We believe that God works to reveal himself to all people.  We believe that God gives us free will and allows us to choose whether to accept or reject his grace in our lives.  He allows us to turn to him for salvation, but does not force us to do so.
Ezek. 18:25-26; John 1:12-13, 3:6b; Rom. 5:6-8, 6:15-16, 10:6-8, 11:22; 1 Cor. 2:9-14; Gal. 5:6; Eph. 2:8-10; Col. 1:21-23; 2 Tim. 4:10a; Titus. 2:11-14; Heb. 2:1-3

8. About Repentance
We believe that in accepting God’s grace, each person must repent – to turn away from one’s sin and turn towards God.  When we choose to do so, God promises to forgive our sin.
2 Chron. 7:14; Ps. 51:1-17; Isa. 55:6-7; Jer. 3:12-14; Ezek. 18:30-32; Mark 1:14-15; Luke 3:1-14, 13:1-5; Acts 2:38, 3:19, 5:31, 17:30-31, 26:16-18; 2 Cor. 7:8-11; 2 Pet. 3:9

9. About Justification, Regeneration, and Adoption
We believe when we repent and place our trust in Christ, our sin is wiped away, we are born again, and we are adopted as a child of God.
Luke 18:14; John 1:12-13, 3:3-8, 5:24; Acts 13:39; Rom. 1:17, 3:21-26, 4:5-9, 5:1, 6:4, 7:6, 8:1; 1 Cor. 1:30, 6:11, 2 Cor. 5:17-21; Gal. 2:16-21, 3:1-14; Eph. 1:6-7, 2:1; Phil. 3:3-9

10. About Entire Sanctification
We believe the mark of a Christian is that their life is becoming more like Christ, in character and in action.  We are both saved and sanctified by grace through faith.  When we are entirely sanctified, God receives all of us as we surrender fully to his will in every area of our lives.
Matt. 5:1-7; John 15:1-11; Rom. 12:1-15:3; 2 Cor. 7:1; Eph. 4:17-5:20; Phil. 1:9-11, 3:12-15; coil. 2:20-3:17; 1 Thess. 3:13, 4:7-8, 5:23; 2 Tim. 2:19-22; Heb. 10:19-25, 12:14, 13:20-21; 1 Pet. 1:15-16; 2 Pet. 1:1-11

11. About the Church
We believe the church is the body of Christ, its mission is to spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ to all people.  The church is a community of believers confessing Jesus as Lord and committed to advancing his mission in the world.

12. About Baptism
Baptism is the outward sign of an inner work of grace.  It identifies us as followers of Jesus and gives testimony that we have made a decision to follow Jesus.
Matt. 3:1-7, 28:16-20; Acts 2:37-41, 8:35-39, 10:44-48, 16:29-34, 19:1-6; Rom. 6:3-4; Gal. 3:26-28; Col. 2:12, 1 Pet. 3:18-22

13. About the Lord’s Supper (Communion)
Communion is a symbol of what Jesus has done for us on the cross.  In it, we remember what Christ has done, who we are in Christ, and where we stand in relationship with God.
Exo. 12:1-14; Matt. 6:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:17-20; John 6:28-58; 1 Cor. 10:14-21, 11:23-32

15. About the Second Coming of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ will come again although we don’t know the exact order of the end-time events.  However, we should keep our eyes focused on our mission until the day he comes again.

16. About the Resurrection, Judgement, and Destiny
We believe that humans were created to live forever; those that are unrepentant will exist separated from God in hell.  Those that have placed their faith in Jesus Christ will eternally exist with God in heaven.
